School Policy

School is the foundation of all the files created in our mind in terms of Humanity, Moral, Discipline, Honesty and Hardwork. “ Parent’s give birth to the children and do upbringing but schools make them good citizens”-Amit Jupi Yes, to create a fair, safe and effective learning environment by outlining clear expectations, rights and responsibilities for students, staff and parents, ensuring consistent application of rules for a positive community. We happily inform that St. Mary of Leuca Matric. Hr. Sec. School, bring forward our policies are designed to foster a strong, inclusive community where everyone feels secure and valued. Here are our policies:

Rules for Discipline:
  • Punctuality and Regularity are more essential. Students must be in the classroom at 8.45a.m.
  • The school uniform is to be worn on all school days and school functions.
  • Students should take care of school property. They should not write or scratch on the desks, chairs, walls or doors of the school nor should they demage property belonging to others.
General Rules:
  • The school starts at 9.00a.m with prayer.
  • Parents are expected to co-operate with the school by ensuring regularity, discipline and by taking a keen interest in the child’s progress.
  • Students who have been absent from the school must have entered the reason in the page of the diary stating briefly the cause of the absence.
  • All children are expected to come to school daily in freshly laundered uniform with clean socks and well polished shoes & I.D.Card.
  • No pupil should leave the school premises without the permission of the Principal or Incharge.
  • Parents or Guardians are not allowed to see their children or meet the teachers during school hours without the prior permission of the principal.
  • The school reserves the right to dismiss those whose progress in studies is steadily unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to others or whose guardians show little interest in the progress of their wards. Immorality, grave, insubordination, contempt of authorities, unruly students’ behaviour or wilful damage of school property is always a sufficient reason for immediate dismissal.
  • All are expected to attend class on the opening day after each vacation. Those absent without leave because of sickness must present a medical certificate before they are admitted to class.
Rules for Parents and Guardians:
  • Parents or Guardians are not allowed to see their wards in the classrooms or interview teachers during school hours without prior permission of the Principal.
  • Any communication, request or complaint made by the parents should be addressed to the principal and not to the teachers or workers.
  • Parents meeting will be held periodically. Parents are requested to attend the same without fail and expected to offer their valuable suggestions for the growth and smooth running of the institution.
  • Parents are requested to check their ward’s diary daily and sign particular entries as and when required. The page allotted for teacher – parent communication may also be put to use as and when necessary.
  • Parents are requested to check and countersign the answer papers.
  • Parents can meet the Principal from Monday to Friday between 03.30p.m to 4.15p.m.
Transport Rules:
  • Students can avail the school transport subject to the availability.
  • Students should not change the van trips without prior information.
  • Parents should make arrangements to drop and receive their wards in their respective stops on time.
Rules for Admission:
  • Eligible age for standard I is completion of 5 years by July 31st.
  • Students applying for admission should appear for Interview/Entrance exam along with Parents. They should submit following records:
    • Birth Certificate : Age Proof – as per the Government records. Date of Birth of the student once entered will not be changed.
    • Transfer Certificate
    • Community Certificate
    • Conduct Certificate (STD VI Onwards)
